Havn

Full Walkthrough

The Havn is Rossmonster’s newest vehicle, and it’s designed to sit between their Sky Van and their Baja truck campers in terms of capability and living space. It’s built on a Sprinter 3500 cutaway chassis with a separate box in the rear, and it’s the most spacious interior the company has ever put together. If the Sky Van feels a little tight and a full Baja truck is more than you need, this is the one they’re pointing you toward.

Vehicle Platform and Base Specs

The Havn runs on the Sprinter 3500 cutaway chassis, which gives it the same wheelbase as a 170 Sprinter but with a dedicated box attached to the rear instead of a factory cargo area. That separation between the living space and the gear storage is one of the defining features of this build.

Rossmonster fits upgraded wheels and tires from the factory, along with a Van Compass suspension upgrade. An Alvans front bumper is available as an option. Out back, the company has done a super single conversion, taking the rear from a dual-wheel setup to a single. That means the spare tire fits any position on the vehicle, front or rear, which matters when you’re somewhere remote and need to swap fast.

Exterior and Storage

The exterior is loaded with underfloor storage boxes running the full length of the passenger side. These open up for wet gear, bikes, compressors, or whatever else you’d rather keep out of the living area. There’s a porch light for camp illumination at night and an electric awning for shade.

The rear garage is the standout feature on the outside of this rig. It runs the full width of the vehicle and can be accessed from either side, so you can walk through it and see straight through. Rossmonster says you can fit skis, two bikes, a rolled-up paddleboard or two, and there’s Elra track in there for flexible tie-down and storage configurations. Outlets are mounted on both sides inside the garage for running lights or accessories at camp. The plumbing and power systems are also accessible from this area.

Around back, Molle panels are mounted on the rear doors. The optional B2 bike carrier mounts up here, but the panels are fully customizable depending on what you want to carry. A full-size spare is mounted back here as well, that super single that fits front or rear.

On the driver’s side, there’s a fresh water fill port for the 40-gallon tank, a shore power hookup, and the cassette toilet dump access. The cassette pulls from the outside, so you’re not crawling through the living area to deal with it.

Electrical

The Havn runs 1,000 amp hours of lithium batteries and 880 watts of walkable solar on the roof. That’s solar you can actually stand on without damaging it. A 3,000 watt inverter handles the AC loads, and an auxiliary alternator charges the batteries whenever the engine is running. That’s 880 watts on the roof and 1,000 amp hours in the bank, so between the solar and the alternator, running low on power would take some effort.

The Garmin system serves as the control and monitoring hub. It tracks battery state, water levels, and connects to a smartphone app so you can check on the vehicle from anywhere. Rossmonster’s service team can also log in remotely for troubleshooting, and they say they’re available seven days a week.

Entry and Front Seating Area

The side door entry has a magnetic latch so it stays open and doesn’t blow back on you in the wind. There’s an electric staircase that deploys when the door opens, and a button inside lets you leave it down while you’re at camp without it cycling every time someone steps in or out.

Inside at the front, both captain’s chairs swivel. The bench seat behind them is a Wilderness Vans Broad Arrow on a Limitless Vans base, and it swivels too, so it can face the side door or face forward for travel. A secondary lagoon table mount lives up here, so you can seat four people at the front and four more at the rear dinette at the same time. An Arctic Tern awning-style window with bug screen and blackout shade sits above the bench. Upper cabinets on push-button latches run along the top, and a large closet with adjustable shelving sits on the passenger side. The cubby above the closet runs all the way to the end of the box and connects with the overhead storage further back. Rossmonster’s founder Luke Farney apparently fits in it, for reference.

A Maxxair fan is mounted in the ceiling at the front of the living area.

Galley

The galley runs along the passenger side. The sink has a folding faucet that tucks away when not in use, and a cutting board insert drops in over it to reclaim the counter space. Paper stone countertops run the length of the galley, and they handle hot pots directly without leaving marks. A two-burner induction cooktop sits next to the sink, and a topo-etched aluminum backsplash behind the cooking area wipes clean easily.

Below the counter, the drawers get larger as you go down. A Breville Combi oven is built into the cabinetry and handles air frying, baking, and microwave functions. Below that is a large storage compartment, and under the sink is an 8-gallon gray water tank with an exterior dump valve. That tank is just for the sink. The shower has its own separate gray water tank.

Wet Bath

The wet bath is on the driver’s side and measures 27 by 40 inches. The exterior door matches the white oak cabinetry so it blends into the rest of the build. The door has a mirror on the inside, which sounds obvious but apparently gets forgotten on a lot of custom builds. A teak floor insert keeps your feet off standing water. There’s a Thetford cassette toilet with a flush, a corner vessel sink, and a dedicated bathroom exhaust fan that pulls air out without letting smells into the rest of the vehicle.

Having a sink in the wet bath in addition to the galley sink is something Rossmonster says sets the Havn apart from the rest of their lineup.

Climate

The Havn has an AC unit, hydronic in-floor heat, and cabin heat. All tanks and plumbing are interior and climate controlled, so freezing isn’t a concern in cold weather. The combination of those systems is what lets Rossmonster call this a four-season vehicle.

Refrigeration

The fridge and freezer unit is a Cruise 220, door-style. It’s the largest unit Rossmonster has put in any of their vehicles. The freezer has separate compartmentalized cooling sections with individual doors, so you can open one section without warming the others.

Rear Dinette and Sleeping

The rear dinette seats four and has the lagoon table mount, so the table can move between here and the front hangout area. A 32-inch TV screen is mounted back here and doubles as a second monitor if you’re working remotely. Arctic Tern windows and an electric skylight with bug screen and blackout shade round out the rear. The skylight also has a built-in light for the space.

The dinette converts to a Murphy bed. There’s a shelving unit on the side, a reading light with a USB charging port, and windows on multiple sides so you get views of wherever you’ve parked for the night.

Final Thoughts

The Havn is priced at $299,000 and is coming to dealers nationwide on September 1st, with early adopter pricing available before then. It’s a serious amount of vehicle for the money, and the detached garage alone separates it from most Sprinter builds on the market. If you’re already familiar with what Rossmonster does, this is them doing more of it with more room.
