Coming Up for Sale: My Custom 2024 Rossmönster Baja Trail
Soft launch · Asking $309,500 · Available December 2026

I'm taking the Baja on one last three-week trip starting mid-November. When I'm back in early December, it goes up for sale. If you're seriously interested, get in touch now and you'll hear from me first.

This is my own rig: a custom-order 2024 Rossmönster Baja Trail on a 2024 Ford F-350 Lariat Ultimate. I took delivery on October 2, 2024, and it's been my home on the road through the desert Southwest and on a long trip up to Canada. I'm already working with Rossmönster on my next rig, otherwise this pre-loved Baja would not be ready for you.

Below is everything that's on it, everything I added, and every service and warranty note, exactly as I'd tell you in person.

Maintenance

  • Carli King Shocks rebuilt at 31,000 truck miles (~27,000 actual miles / August 2026).
  • Upgraded Timbren BES brake pads and rotors in the front (October 2026). OEM pads and rotors were still good, but I wanted upgraded brake performance, especially in hot climate conditions with a heavy vehicle, and the Timbrens are specifically designed for that.
  • Frequent oil changes and service maintenance every 5,000–7,000 miles on average. With one exception, all service and oil changes were done at Ford Dealerships. One oil change was done at a 3rd party oil change service during a long trip to Canada in a more remote area. All oil changes included new filters and high-end synthetic oil.
  • Tires were rotated frequently. The spare was in rotation once, but I decided not to do that anymore, as the spare does not have a TPMS sensor and it made it difficult to monitor tire pressure.
  • No warranty issues or failures of any kind, with one exception: the driver door window buttons stopped working, a known issue on the Super Duty trucks. They were replaced by Ford during regular service maintenance at around ~30,000 miles.
  • The Carli lower steering stabilizer sheared off for whatever reason, and the mounting was corrected and replaced.

The Rossmönster Experience

Rossmönster has been fantastic to work with. They offer a 36,000/3-year warranty and the rig is still well within that range. The truck was purchased separately and dropped off at Rossmönster with about 4,500 miles on the odometer. I took ownership of the converted rig on 10/02/2024.

There were a few issues that required a stop at Rossmönster. Service was fantastic and they took great care of everything. Keep in mind, you’re driving a house on wheels, and if you take it off-road, too, there is simply a lot of moving and shaking going on. Almost all issues were related to that. The main issues were related to the pop-top retractable roof. Rossmönster frequently makes improvements to their rigs and the related tech. When my rig was built, the roof alignment mechanism was different from what it is today. The roof was upgraded to the newer alignment mechanism over time and has been flawless since then. I had some gremlins in the power system during spring of 2026, and Rossmönster did a good job troubleshooting remotely and we got it all worked out (it seemed to be a small chain reaction coming from a bad fuse related to the DC/DC charging from the alternator).

Other than that, Rossmönster has been responsive to my support inquiries, and I even got Luke, the man himself, to call me on a Sunday afternoon just to walk me through some troubleshooting steps, and we discovered that a power plug had wiggled loose.

So, yes, some warranty and support issues, but a service team that was there for me when I needed the help.

The build quality has been phenomenal in my opinion. As mentioned earlier, you’re driving a small house all over the place, and it is hard to compare that to a regular vehicle or even a fixed house. Rossmönster was good at managing that expectation, and I have been super-happy with this rig. I am already working with Rossmönster on my next rig, otherwise this pre-loved Baja would not be ready for you.
